Scoring ‘Imbroglio’
Exciting news in Turrellwood! We’re pleased to report that we’ve recently been hunkering down in the studio and composing music for our latest film, ‘Imbroglio’.
In the capable hands and button-twiddling digits of long-time collaborator Dicky Solaini, things have got off to a great start. Lots of strong brass, woodwind and strings on this one with harp, piano, celeste and crotales being blended and given the tape analogue treatment to help muster up a dusty and dated (albeit richly orchestral) atmosphere.
Taking reference from the likes of Jerry Fielding, David Shire, Morton Feldman, Gary Yershon, The Nutcracker Fantasy (1979) and a host of other disparate references, the music is already working to further heighten the dramatic hysteria of the film and underline the film’s neurotic idiosyncrasies. Here’s hoping - pandemic-permitting - that the recording will be finished early in the New Year.
