A Video Game by Tom & John Turrell
COMING SOON(ISH)!
CONCEPT
BEESTVILLE is a 2D retro point ‘n click adventure game.
Combining inspiration from UK folklore, small town Americana (à la Eerie, Indiana), the fiction of Thomas Ligotti and the classic era of adventure games by the likes of Ron Gilbert and Charles Cecil, BEESTVILLE is a spooky celebration of the UK’s East Midlands.
Created using Photoshop, Paint.net, Adventure Game Studio and utilising Trizbort.io in the planning stages, it’s an ambitious project — and one that will take us years to complete.
STORY
With elements of horror, investigation and intrigue, BEESTVILLE follows our protagonist who must traverse an uncanny Midlands terrain to solve a mystery. Find out the meaning behind a sinister local legend; speak with locals and weirdos; explore back alleys and pockets of dereliction!
DEVELOPMENT
BEESTVILLE promises to be a sprawling map with Historical, Industrial and Residential areas. The town centre will feature a main drag of intriguing and absurd shop fronts; the marina and canal will be a characterful night time backdrop of nature and oddity; old ivy-grown industrial sites and obscure fringes of town and countryside will also be areas of exploration.
We’re still in the planning and concept stages, and are currently rough testing ideas. Are you a fan or developer of point ‘n click adventures? Get in touch!
